MovingMosaic's Fluchtkörper: Cuerpos en Fuga Travel Funding

Donation protected
Moving Mosaic, run by artists Laura DeAngelis, Naia Urresti, Dionel Pire, and Tea Nadir, is a dance and performance collective based in Berlin with the exciting opportunity to travel to Bogotá, Colombia, to organise the Fluchtkörper: Cuerpos en Fuga Dance Festival including a full program of self-produced performances and workshops! We will be collaborating with and joined by J. Rene Guerra and Flor Bobadilla, who will travel from Argentina. In addition to tirelessly working on creative processes and rehearsals, we are also seeking funding for our airfare. In addition to formal grant applications and fundraising initiatives, we seek your assistance with crowdfunding here. Any amount helps!

More about the works being presented:
Mis-Placed: Choreographed by Naia Urresti on dancers Dionel Pire, Tea Nadir and Laura DeAngelis. It is a quartet about the concept of not belonging, and how our differences separate and connect us with the others, fitting in at some moments and then dividing us.

In Our Clubhouse: Choreographed by Laura DeAngelis, this dance-theater duet performed with Tea Nadir is an exploration of intimate relationships that works to understand the essence of intimacy. The goal is to capture intimacy in the form of a lived, performed experience for the audience.

E: Choreographed by Naia Urresti in collaboration with Dionel Pire, this is a danced duet on the subject of gender roles and expectations, how they shape us, and how we can find our true selves within and beyond them.

Two-Dimensional Narratives, Three-Dimensional Flesh (title in progress): Choreographed by Laura DeAngelis on dancers Naia Urresti, Dionel Pire, and Tea Nadir, this is an episodic and narrative dance work that lives at the intersection of comedy and emotionality. The work is being created in parallel to a short graphic cartoon containing 5-6 panels with illustrator Marine Brossard. Both narratives are based on the stories and legacies of the dancers’ grandmothers.

Penélope: Choreographed by Naia Urresti, this is a solo piece about female desire, from the perspective of a queer woman, based on her desire for other women while it talks about concepts as the wait, pleasure and unfullfillment.

Beers for Science: Choreographed and performed by Laura DeAngelis, this is a solo piece hybrid of contemporary dance and standup comedy tracking the episodic progression of a group of friends and a typical evening drinking 5 beers together.

Vorübergehende Lösungen um das Verlorene zu bennenen: Directed by J. René Guerra and performed by Naia Urresti, this is a solo piece about forced migration, the exhaustion and the body as a territory of resistance. Based on the live experiences of Guerra and Urresti, a lesbian writer and director and a neurodivergent queer dancer.

Extranjera Lenta: Directed by J. René Guerra and performed by Flor Bobadilla Oliva, this is a musical performance about colonization, migration and identity, exploring the tensions between the own narrative, representation, voice and territory.
