Help us translate Elder Ephraim’s new book series!

Hello, my name is Ioachim Shim, and I am an Orthodox Christian living in Texas.

With the blessing of St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery (AZ) and my Spiritual Father, I will be translating Elder Ephraim’s new book series, ‘Sent by God’ into Korean.

I have translated several Orthodox prayers and services into Korean (they are about to be published through a Korean Orthodox publisher), and am in the process of translating the great book, ‘Monastic Wisdom’ by St. Joseph the Hesychast.

The plan is to finish translating and editing ‘Monastic Wisdom’ by this late summer, get it published, and start working on ‘Sent by God.’

I have been working on the above mentioned translation projects part time, as I have a full time work. It has taken me few years to translate most of ‘Monastic Wisdom.’ If you are able to donate to the new translation project, I will be able to work on it full time for at least one full year and significantly speed up the translation process.

So far, sharing the little portion of the spiritual wisdom of St. Joseph the Hesychast in ‘Monastic Wisdom’ to the Korean Orthodox community has brought much change and zeal to the young Orthodox people there, and the demand for pious and spirituality satiating materials has been increasing, as well as interest for Geronda Ephraim. As of now, however, there is very little information available in Korean about the holy Elders and Saints Joseph the Hesychast and Ephraim of Arizona.

I am starting this fundraising with the blessing as an attempt to meet the spiritual demand of the faithfuls of Korea. The Orthodox publisher I am working with is also very happy to publish it once done. In fact, His Eminence Archbishop Theofan of Korea, who is in charge of the publisher, gave his blessing to publish our Geronda's book series through his publisher within an hour I mentioned it to his deacon.

If not enough funds are collected, then it will be donated to St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery (AZ) to help them publish other worthy spiritual books, and to Holy Archangels Greek Orthodox Monastery (TX).
