Rainbow Heights Club is the only agency in New York State dedicated to providing support for low-income LGBTQ+ people living with serious mental illness. We operate a Brooklyn drop in center where our members can socialize and give and receive recovery support, enjoy a free meal as they take the next steps in their mental health recovery.
The constant escalation of political attacks on our community combined with the systematic de-funding of programs serving Queer and Trans communities highlight how important it is for our program to maintain and expand by seeking direct support from the community.
This program is enormously successful in reducing inpatient hospitalizations and keeping consumers in outpatient, community based care.
We are proud to report that 91% of Rainbow Heights Club members remained free of psychiatric hospitalization in the past year.
This holiday season, we ask you to help us raise $25,000 to ensure the sustainability and expansion of our mental health support services as we continue to provide peer support both in-person and over the phone.
Will you consider donating $100, $50 or $25 today?
Your Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
With your help, in 2026 we look forward to continuing the expanded services Rainbow Heights Club provides. Your support enables members to access peer specialists through telephone and in person services in support of their individual recovery plans.
In addition to our drop in peer support, an important part of our on site programming is the free daily meal. This brings our members together in community over a shared meal, an experience many of our members don't have in their lives absent our program.
You can make a difference by donating today to Rainbow Heights Club. Your support will help ensure that we have the resources to meet the growing need for services in 2026.
We know that increased access to our services has a positive impact on our members’ wellness and recovery. In fact, our latest member survey found that with in-person and telephone support from Rainbow Heights Club, our members have:
• Regularly visited their psychiatrist / therapist in the past year (85%)
• Taken their psychiatric medications as prescribed (82%)
• Better self-esteem (91%)
• Felt more hope (93%)
• Higher self-acceptance (91%)
With your help, we know we will be able to continue providing services that improve the lives and recovery of LGBTQ+ New Yorker's living with serious mental illness.
