Help us to send our mother off

If you’ve ever met my mother, you know that she was one of the most down to Earth, light hearted, and caring individuals you’ll ever come across. Always a jokester. Even in her last days before she fell unconscious. Even in severe pain on a daily basis she was making jokes making us laugh when we came to visit her. Mom worked hard for years until her conditions made it so she couldn’t work anymore. Eventually Mom received SSI and housing. A little one bedroom apartment, but she STILL took in anyone she knew who needed some place to stay. Quite a few people went to live with my Mom when in need and some crossed her. Stole from her. Ruined her things. She STILL allowed them to come back. Still took everyone in. Even though she could barely afford to care for herself! This was my mother. She loved people. She suffered for so long, and fought hard with all her health issues until she succumbed to rectal cancer on New Year’s Eve. My siblings and I just learned of our Mother’s cancer diagnosis a few weeks ago. The next thing we hear is that it’s too advanced a stage to treat. Things moved too fast. I don’t like the idea of my Mom laying in somebody’s morgue for a long time. We want to send her off right. But upon researching the costs, none of us can afford it. So I’m hoping that a crowd effort from people who cared about our mother, and some who just care will allow us to give her a beautiful send off. I know they say “Gofundme isn’t for funeral expenses.” But Mom didn’t have life insurance. She lived on a fixed income and had pre existing conditions that would prevent her from attaining it even if we tried. Any donations in ANY amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
