Help to send Water Polo boys to Junior Olympics!

Hi, my name is Maiko Izon. I am one of the boys' moms who got selected to go to the 2023 USA Water Polo Junior Olympics in Orange County, CA this July. I hope to raise funds for the travel expenses of 7 12U and 1 16U athletes who play together in the Lokahi Water Polo Club with Coach Ray.

This is such a huge milestone for them to represent Hawaii 12U team (and 16U) and we are all excited to send them to the big stage to compete against other players from all over the US.

Because of the timing of travel and where the JO is happening, Irvine, CA, in the middle of the summer break, airfares, lodgings, etc., are super expensive!! And the boys could use the financial support from our friends, fans, and families to make this trip possible. We anticipate the total cost of the trip to be approximately $20,000. I’d greatly appreciate it if you could donate to help their travel expenses!!

About the Lokahi Water Polo Club:

The Lokahi Water Polo Club is a small community club run by Coach Ray since 2020, who is "A" water polo enthusiast. It started in the middle of this pandemic with a group of water polo players who’s dying to play the ball in the water. Back then, any of sports activities were banned in public EXCEPT in the ocean. So they started to play water polo in the ocean. Soon, the passion for his water polo led to spread to the younger children for extra activities during the pandemic. Our boys were one of them who joined in the beginning. They started learning to play water polo for the first time with Coach Ray. Now, after less than a year of intensive practices in the advanced group, they are growing not only as better water polo players, but also as pre-teens with great sportsmanship and teamworks taught by Coach Ray.

I hope this is just the beginning of their great journey in life to expand their potential and ability as athletes. Being part of Hawaii Water Polo Community provides inspiration and mentorship to the youth of the sport with entertaining and fun-filled experience it making the community bigger and stronger!
