Hello, my name is Rosiebel Rodríguez Félix, and I am reaching out during one of the most difficult moments of my life with humility, honesty, and hope.
I am a mother of two children and the caretaker of 19 cats who are part of our family, (Princess, Maxy, Tigre, Amanda, Perla, Adan, Set, Anastasia, Andres, Josiah, Ananias, Stacy, Efrain, Deborah, Dina, Ester, David, Abigail and Judah). We are currently living in Puerto Rico and facing an urgent housing emergency. We are at risk of becoming homeless, and for our safety and stability, we must relocate immediately to Nashville, Tennessee, where we have the opportunity to rebuild our lives and regain stability.
This is not a simple move. It is a complex, emotional, and extremely costly relocation but it is necessary to protect my children and preserve our family.
Why We Are Asking for $50,000
Relocating a family with children and 19 animals requires careful planning and significant resources to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.
Transportation
• A single flight from Puerto Rico to Miami can cost up to $25,000 due to the number of animals.
• Flying directly to Nashville is even more expensive.
• The safest and most humane plan is:
• Fly to Miami
• Rent a van and drive approximately 10 hours to Nashville, allowing the cats to rest and avoid spending excessive hours on airplanes.
Veterinary and Animal Care Costs
• Required vaccinations
• Health certificates for travel
• Pending spay/neuter surgeries
• Missing carriers and travel bags
• Collars, diapers
• Food, water, bowls, and essential supplies
Housing & Relocation Expenses
• Housing application fees
• Security deposit
• First month’s rent
• Utility setup (electricity and water)
Other Essential Costs
• Vehicle rental
• Insurance
• Health insurance for my children and myself
• Basic relocation and survival expenses during the transition
Our Family Is Not Disposable
Some may wonder why we don’t give the cats away. The answer is simple: they are family. They are not replaceable or disposable. They have been emotional support for my children during difficult times, and abandoning them is not an option we can live with emotionally or ethically.
My only goal is to protect my children, keep our family united, and start over with dignity.
