Help us to rebuild the villages in Morocco

We are working on rebuilding plans for all the destroyed villages after the earthquake in Morocco. 

I had just returned from Marrakech for a few days and realized on the plane that everything I had experienced there, the pain I saw and felt, could not simply be ignored. The tents that are supplied en masse are nice but short-term solutions. I have listened to stories of mothers with newborn babies who are now sleeping on the streets, of fathers who have had to bury their children, of children who no longer have parents. The harsh reality dawned on me. Entire villages have to be rebuilt.  

I am currently talking to professionals in the field of architects, contractors, government and experts in the field of Moroccan heritage. 

I have noticed that many people donate to the Red Cross, which causes us to miss out on donations.That is why I am currently lobbying a lot to get “rebuild a village” financially started. We can use all donations and expertise.

We will use the donations to rebuild the houses in Morocco together with Dar Tifl in Marrakech.

The funds will be spent on buying materials to build the houses as soon as possible.

We are currently lobbying a lot to get “rebuild a village” financially started. When we will raise our first 10.000 euro we will start to build a first home for a family that got their house destroyed in Amzmiz. We are in contact with them and we promised them that we will do the best we can to collect the money asap and build their new home. Our plan is to build the first houses between now and 6 months. We will buy all the materials in Morocco and work with experts and architects from Marrakech. We are already in contact with several professionals that collaborate with us.

Our position at Dar Tifl is a collaboration, we will manage the funds and if we do not reach the target amount we will donate to the donations to Dar Tifl. They are already working on building a orfphin house in Marrakech. The donations will be send through bank and we will ask Dar Tifl to send a thank you video after.

We werken aan wederopbouwplannen voor alle verwoeste dorpen na de aardbeving in Marokko.

Ik was net een paar dagen terug uit Marrakesh en besefte in het vliegtuig dat alles wat ik daar had meegemaakt, de pijn die ik zag en voelde, niet zomaar genegeerd kon worden. De tenten die massaal worden aangeleverd zijn leuke maar kortetermijnoplossingen. Ik heb geluisterd naar verhalen van moeders met pasgeboren baby’s die nu op straat slapen, van vaders die hun kinderen hebben moeten begraven, van kinderen die geen ouders meer hebben. De harde werkelijkheid drong tot mij door. Hele dorpen moeten herbouwd worden.

Momenteel spreek ik met professionals op het gebied van architecten, aannemers, overheid en deskundigen op het gebied van Marokkaans erfgoed.

Ik merk dat veel mensen doneren aan het Rode Kruis, waardoor we donaties mislopen. Daarom lobby ik momenteel veel om “een dorp opnieuw opbouwen” financieel op gang te krijgen. Alle donaties en expertise kunnen wij goed gebruiken.
