Tuesday 2nd July

Apologies for the delay with the updates - it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster with this lads blood tests so there have been a few as one level was consistently higher but this appears to be his new normal. He is also now a part of the study to help further cats and kittens in the future but it’s been a much longer time that he has been on the medication but he had his last dose last night! The month of June his medication along cost was £1500 due to the increase in dose!!

Jock continues to do well and is now into the observation period again so we have everything crossed that this time he will stay stable!!

We are very grateful to everyone who has donated so far and would be thankful if you feel you could support us as we continue to do what we do for Jock and all of his friends in the care of the rescue xx

Monday 18th March

Jock continues to hold his own with the medication back on board but with a cost of £45 per day for this it’s a costly treatment that he is receiving plus the blood tests and veterinary inpatient care that he received prior to starting back on the Remdesivir. We really do appreciate every single penny that is donated to help us to continue to do what we do. You can also donate straight to the rescue via our bank account or through our website if you require any further information please do not hesitate to get in touch xx

Sunday 3rd March

Jock came out of the vets on Friday lunchtime his temperature has been high so he has been back and forward with his foster mum Pauline for appointments at 9pm with the nightshift vets to have his temp taken the last 2 nights he has been sitting over 39.5 but thankfully tonight it’s sitting at 39! Always a worry until their systems start to stabilise! Jock had a quieter day yesterday but today he does seem to have picked up a bit especially his eating which is just great!!

Update 11pm 01/03/2024

Jock has spent 3 days and night as an inpatient at our vets and was so happy to be back in his foster home! His temperature is fluctuating so he will be checked daily until this stabilises which of course Jock isn’t too happy about but we can’t blame him for that!!

We have had the FIP blood test back too which confirms that he is indeed positive for a relapse so medication for another 84 days along with the various supplements.

Today our Jock is an inpatient in our vets due to what we hope is a UTI but there is concerns that he is relapsing so we are having bloods sent away for testing to check for this which is done at the University of Glasgow. His in-house bloods are all fine which is we hope a good sign but as you can imagine very much a worry!

Jock has done so well so everything crossed this is a uti and the antibiotics will do the trick!

Hi I’m Angie who runs Angus Cat Rescue we are looking for funds to help us to help our foster boy Jock who has been diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peronitis). He has the dry neuro type and is currently started on the appropriate medication after having extensive testing done. He is on an 84 day treatment including various supplements and regular vet appointments to make sure he is on track for a full recovery.

As a small rescue we work tirelessly to raise funds but we really do need an extra hand with this special boy to keep the monies coming in to pay his vets bill.

Every £1 raised is used 100% towards the cats and kittens as we are all volunteers and no one receives a salary.

we have just received another 40 tablets which is 20 days supply so will have another batch of 40 to buy, this boy is up to mischief climbing the clothes horse

30/01/2024

Jock is due to the vets tomorrow for a health check and weigh in but his weight we believe is now 4kilos!! This boy continues to do so well and is a bit of a lad with a very mischievous streak!! We are needing to purchase more medication which we will do after his health check as it’s likely we are going to go over the normal 84 days to hopefully get this boy right so if you can share a £1 or 2 please help us to help Jock your support really is very much appreciated xx

  • We are hoping that it’s the last bits of medication that we are now purchasing for Jock along with all the supplements that he has been on alongside the special gs medication! He is now looking great and causing chaos with his foster mates it really is so great to see! Again huge thank you to each and everyone who has donated up to now we really do appreciate it and every penny we receive is used 100% towards the care of the cats and kittens with us!
