Helping Hugo

Hello, We are raising funds for our family to help our 17 year old dog to be put to sleep. He has been seen by a vet and it has been advised that his suffering be put to an end. Unfortunately due to changes in circumstances, we are unable to afford the costs. My husband Dominic has set the go fund me up in my name as my bank details will be attached and I will be attending the appointment with our boy Hugo. I will stay with him until the end ❤️

We have an appointment for Hugo at warren house vet centre in brown hills on Wednesday at 12 o’clock but the date can be moved if funds aren’t available before then due to stipulations around withdrawals. An update will be posted once the appointment has been finalised and funds available. Hugo will be cremated and come home to us in his forever box a week later.

Hugo is a 17yr old Staffordshire bull terrier.

He was a rescue we took in 5years ago and are unable to get him insured due to his previously diagnosed health conditions and age.

He has a terrible skin condition we've tried so many things but nothing is working, he's virtually blind and very hard of hearing. He also has lumps all over him which the vets have advised that it's most likely cancer but they are unwilling to treat due to his age and frailness. His back legs are starting to buckle and become very weak due to age (maybe arthritis).

He is becoming confused and sometimes aggressive towards us because he doesn't recognise us.

He also urinates in the house randomly and walks into walls and doors daily.

At this point we have exhausted all of our options including charities, vets and government grants.

We are at a loss of what to do but find it very difficult to watch him struggling on a daily basis. He deserve his rest, he has been the bestest of boys and we love him dearly.

It's not just a case of watching the poor boy suffer but we have young children too. With Hugo becoming aggressive at times we have put precautions in place but still worry as to what may happen.
