Help us to get Ian Gaskin home!

Ian Gaskin, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Ian, known and loved by many made friends wherever he went. Ian loved his adidas trainers, football and travelling the world, his last sight being the Turkish views. Ian took pride in his sobriety and reached 15 years sober, leaning into the world of hope and peace whilst achieving his best self.

Through devastating events, Ian passed away suddenly between Monday, the 16th of June 2025 and Tuesday, the 17th of June 2025 in his hotel room from unknown causes. As we await his autopsy results from Turkey which is estimated to take 6 months, we urgently need to get Ian back home to lay him to rest. Unfortunately, we do not have much time to collect and repatriate, with the longevity of his stay in the mortuary being an estimation of 2 weeks - though an extension has been requested, and without getting him home there is no confirmation if we could get him back home after this time is up.

Without having insight into his health insurance, and no ability to collect his belongings from Turkey, to be on the safe side we are attempting to raise money towards the costs of his repatriation and funeral fees, though any excess money will be donated to a drug rehabilitation unit in his local area.

Please, if you are wanting to donate to Ian’s cause, only donate to this GoFundMe, as my mother, Ian’s sister Anne is his next of kin, and will be taking care of all steps needed and necessary.

We understand the goal is a large sum of money, though this will help towards getting him home along with laying him to rest. Any donations will be incredibly appreciated, and we thank you so much for your help.
