Help us to Fix our Family's Roof

EDIT: The contractor has been assessing the house more, and found that the water has leaked down the walls in the bathroom and they will need to rip out the tub surround and vanity, which ups the cost even more. We’re shocked and seems like this isn’t going to end. Thank you for all your support! We are floored at the amount of help people have done for us already.

Hi everyone,

My name is Casey and our house had a major emergency happen last night. After having a lot of heavy rain here for over a week, the roof started many leaks that collapsed the ceiling in, revealing a load of water in the attic coming down. After getting assessed by a roofing repair company, the roof, ceiling and insulation repair and replacement costs will come close to $20,000. The roof was just over the age limit for insurance to help cover any of it, so we have to completely pay out of pocket, money that we don't have. Mom has been off work for the past year with health issues, and dad has been trying to keep the finances afloat but it has been very tight with having hours cut and inflation getting so bad.

We have been trying to pool our money together, but we don't have the income to make this complete payment and be able to stay afloat. With winter closely approaching, we're worried about getting this fixed before the snow comes and having to heat the house.

If anyone can help up and contribute what you can, it would be so very appreciated.
