This is a crowdfunding campaign for our first short film.
We’ve already raised €3,000 to make it happen, and we are now trying to raise the final €1,000 to complete the production.
The film is called The Waltz of the Mosquito.
My name is Ion Donà, I am 25 years old, born and raised in Milan.
I am an actor trained at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, and I have always felt the need to tell stories.
This story comes from a personal urgency, deeply connected to the places and experiences that shaped me.
When the idea first started to take form, I shared it with Pasquale Montemurro, a close friend and fellow actor, with whom I’ve always shared a strong artistic and human connection. His perspective gave the project depth and balance, and together we began to develop it with real commitment.
AN IDEA BORN AT NIGHT
The Waltz of the Mosquito came to me one night, on my way home after a chaotic evening.
The night bus wasn’t arriving. Around me, faces and situations started to trigger mixed emotions: unease, vulnerability, tension.
That’s where the question began:
What if I told the story of a young man forced, in the middle of the night, to travel from the city center back to the outskirts of Milan?
A contemporary urban odyssey.
A descent into the hidden, darker side of the self.
The story takes place over the course of one night in Milan.
Daniele, the protagonist, is waiting for a night bus to go back home. The bus never arrives.
Instead, he meets Hannah, a young Viennese musician who invites him to a private party where she is going to perform.
He says no at first. Then, after a few minutes, he changes his mind and decides to go after her.
But when he arrives, Hannah is gone.
From that moment on, he starts looking for her — and this search becomes a journey through the city at night, in a Milan that slowly changes its face, suspended between dream and reality.
Along the way, Daniele meets different characters, including Pepe, who becomes a sort of guide and leads him into situations that push him out of his comfort zone.
What starts as a simple attempt to find someone turns into something more personal — a confrontation with himself, his fears, and his desires.
WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
We are producing this short film independently, with a small team and limited resources.
The funds we raise will be used to cover the essential production costs, including:
Equipment and camera
Locations and permits
Production design
Transportation
Food for the crew
Post-production (editing, sound, color grading)
We are very close to making this film happen, and your support can really make the difference.
THANK YOU
If you’d like to support the film, it really means a lot to us.
And if you can’t donate, sharing the campaign is already a big help.
Thank you.
