We are losing our bird of prey centre

My name is Donna, we run Hootenanny Owls falconry centre at Finlaystone country park in Langbank. We have been at the estate for almost 7 years, we have worked with the birds there for 8 years. We have 41 birds at the centre, with 80% of the birds being rescued. From surviving fires, to being found in cardboard boxes, having birds donated to us by retiring or terminally ill falconers, so to sell them would stress them even further. They may not be worth money to the outside world, but they are worth being saved.

We have been given notice to vacate the property in just over a month. This not only goes against the contracts we have but also goes against the reasons why notice would be given.

We are in discussions with a number of places to have space to put the 41 birds we have at the centre. Our major concerns are building a space for the birds, moving costs, license costs.

We have sourced a place that will build the amount of averies and transport them to wherever we go, we have priced these at £900 to £1,200 per avery including building them. The current license fees are £1500, moving costs would be hiring suitable vehicles to move the larger birds. The averies can be done cheaper but they wouldn't be safe in the Scottish weather So this is why we are doing this gofundme.

What else We do - We run wee falconers clubs where kids of all backgrounds can learn how to work with birds of prey. We do a number of community based projects, with kids and adults with disabilities using some of the birds as pets as therapy. we offer an alternative learning experience to show how wonderful these creatures are.

We know this is a lot of money in today's world. But these birds at least need to be happy and healthy and thriving. Please support our fundraising.

There's no chance to leave these birds on the estate, I expect the owner to destroy the centre As it's rotting and poorly built. We have been left with no option but to move, I don't want to see these birds suffer because the owner of the estate has changed his mind as to having birds on the estate.
