Help Mahmoud's Family Escape Gaza's Emergency Situation

I beg you to help my family evacuate from the Gaza conflict zone by contributing to our GoFundMe campaign. As things get worse in Rafah, south Gaza, my family and I need a safe place to stay and safety right away. Our name is Mahmoud Shamallakh.

Challenges Faced in Gaza:

1. Emergency disaster: The continuous war in Gaza has resulted in a major medical crisis, with thousands of people facing a lack of essential supplies such as food, water, and electricity. Infrastructure damage further exacerbates the situation, making access to basic services increasingly difficult.

2. Health Concerns: The health system in Gaza is strained, with limited medical supplies and facilities. Chronic illnesses like cancer and diabetes put people at danger, especially when there aren't enough healthcare resources available.

3. Violence and problems: Gaza is marked by regular outbreaks of violence and instability, which endangers civilian lives on a daily basis. The threat of airstrikes, bombings, and armed conflict creates an environment of fear and uncertainty.

4. Economic Instability: The financial situation of Gaza has been severely affected by the ongoing war, leading to high rate of joblessness and widespread poverty. Economic instability further compounds the challenges faced by families like the Shamallakhs, making it difficult to afford basic necessities and essential services.

5. Restricted Movement: limitations on mobility imposed by various parties to the conflict limit the potential of civilians to move freely within Gaza and to neighboring countries. This restricts access to essential services and opportunities for escape to safer locations.

Overall, the confluence of these issues creates a dangerous situation for families like the Shamallakhs, who are desperately seeking shelter and stability amid the chaos in Gaza.

With each passing day, the lack of essentials like water, food, and electricity intensifies, further aggravating the already dangerous situation. I can't stress how bad things are for us enough, especially since both of my parents have cancer and diabetes. Even though there have been many evacuations in Gaza, the danger is still very real, which makes our need to leave even more urgent.

Our lifeline lies in reaching Egypt, where we can find temporary respite from the horrors of war. But Hala Company's outrageous crossing fees—$5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child—make it very hard for us to get to safety.

With your generous support through GoFundMe, we can overcome this barrier and secure the means to reach Egypt. Any donation, no matter how small, will directly help pay for the required crossing fees and meet the immediate needs of our family while we are in Egypt on a short-term basis.
