Help Us Thank the Heroes Who Helped Save Levi

On April 26th, our sweet orange cat Leviosa—Levi for short—suddenly became very sick. We didn’t know what was wrong, only that he was in pain and something was seriously wrong. When we rushed him to the vet, they discovered he had a life-threatening bladder blockage. His bladder was full, and his body was essentially bleeding into itself. He was in agony, and the vet couldn’t even get a catheter in to relieve the pressure.

At only two years old, Levi is a gentle, loving soul who still has so much life ahead of him. We had funds to cover the initial vet visit, but we quickly learned he needed to be transferred to an emergency veterinary hospital to survive the night. Every ER clinic we called was far outside our budget, and we were running out of time. We applied for loans, grants—anything that might give him a chance.

That’s when a true miracle happened. The incredible staff at the vet clinic—who even stayed nearly two hours past closing trying to save him—connected us with the Humane Society of the Low Country and Coastal Cats Foundation. They stepped in and found emergency funding that helped us get Levi to an ER in Charleston, two hours away from our home.

Thanks to them, Levi made it through the night. His condition was critical—his potassium levels were dangerously high—but he pulled through and is now back home, healing.

Now, we want to give back. We’re raising funds to help repay the Humane Society of the Low Country for the life-saving support they gave us. Every dollar you donate will go directly to them, so they can continue helping other pets and families in crisis—just like they helped us.
