Thirty years ago, a girl named Lavenia stepped into a crowd at a block party and never came home. Her case went cold. The world moved on. But some stories refuse to stay buried.

Girl Beneath the Floorboard follows a teenage girl whose visions pull her toward Lavenia and the truth of what happened to her. It becomes one girl's mission to do what no one else could: bring her home.

The premise is fiction, but the reason behind it is not. Thousands of Black girls and children go missing in this country, and their cases rarely get the same urgency or attention as their white counterparts. I am making this film to put one of those stories in the light.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Five Points Film Camp, a nonprofit committed to film education. Through them, we are bringing on five mentees to work alongside our team and learn filmmaking from the inside, moving from watching to doing over the course of the shoot. Every donation helps seat a young filmmaker on this set who might never have had the chance otherwise. And because Five Points is a registered 501(c)(3), your contribution is tax-deductible, with your receipt coming directly from them.

Donations cover the real costs of production: cast, crew, locations, equipment, and food on set. Every gift moves us closer to a finished film and to five new filmmakers finding their footing.

Please consider donating or sharing. A gift of any size makes a difference, and a share costs nothing but reaches someone who needs to hear this story.

Thank you for standing with us, and with Lavenia.
