Full Frontal Theatre is comprised of Hen Ryan, Sadie Pearson and Grace Shropshire, three spunky girls with big GOBS and a passion for new writing. With theatre falling into crisis due to cuts to Arts Council funding and the repercussions of the pandemic, the art of playwriting finds itself under threat. We feel strongly that if we don't seek to preserve this branch of the arts now, we risk losing authentic theatre making as a whole. The financial pressure faced by theatres and the performing arts leaves little to no room for risk taking and statement making...but that is what we are all about.
We want to contribute to bringing the feeling of DIY theatre back to the Edinburgh Fringe. With the beast of 'corporate Fringe' being consistently fed each year, the cost of taking independent material to the festival has grown to be extortionate, despite this being its original purpose. So, with your support, we intend to deliver that punky bombast that belongs at the Fringe, as we have promised to the fabulous team at Greenside Venues. 'To Watch a Man Eat' by Sadie Pearson is a play about appetite. In a world balanced by excess at the top and slim pickings at the bottom, who is truly starved? With the play exploring the normalcy of corporate confinement, and as creative spaces becoming encroached upon by large brands, what better a discussion to bring to the Fringe at this pivotal time?
Any and all contributions to this page are indescribably appreciated and will help us with our venue fees, Fringe fees, accommodation for our actors, rehearsal spaces, set, costume and so much more!!! We truly believe in the importance of this project and the preservation of young theatre.
Thank you for your time,
Hen, Sadie and Grace Xxx
