How far would you go to pay your rent? That’s just the question down-on-his-luck Wiley will be forced to answer in our short film Swap Meet.

A goofy and irreverent tale of desperation, Swap Meet follows Wiley, a downtrodden but inventive Angeleno at the end of his leash. His challenge: Get $2,000 to his landlord by the end of the week or he’s homeless. His solution: Well, he doesn’t really have one. Until that is, he spies a Lost Dog Flier advertising a sizable reward for the safe return of an exorbitantly spoiled pooch named Roscoe. Wiley poses as a private investigator specializing in missing dogs to Roscoe’s eccentric “mother” and promises to find her little boy. But when locating the canine proves more difficult than anticipated, Wiley is forced to decide how far he’ll go to save his own skin.

This delightful and hilarious short is a labor of love for us but, unfortunately, love doesn’t pay for equipment rentals, food, animal talent, post-production, or festival entries in a capitalist society. That’s why we’ve come to you, our family, friends, and anonymous internet people (aka friends we haven’t met yet) to ask for your help in taking this story from script to screen. Any donation is more than appreciated and you will have our undying love and gratitude. (You’ll still have our undying love and gratitude if you don’t donate, but donating will make it easier on our end.)

Thank You!
