At the Healey School, we have a tradition of bringing our students into the world to learn, both about the world and themselves. Whether it is trip to a play or a college, or an overnight to a working farm or our nation’s capital, our students learn independence, life skills, and hands-on knowledge in a variety of settings. In fact this year our grade 7/8 students will be hitting the road to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, with all sorts of exciting adventures planned along the way!

This doesn’t work, though, if not every student can access these experiences because of family circumstances. That’s where your contributions come in! The Friends of Healey is an all-volunteer non-profit, working with teachers to defray the costs for students who would not otherwise afford a trip. Direct family field trip payments only cover 65-70% of the total costs for the school’s big field trips, so the rest is covered by your generosity!

Friends of Healey supports the mission and values of the Arthur D. Healey School, a socioeconomically diverse public Pre-k to Grade 8 elementary school in Somerville, Massachusetts. Friends of Healey's 501 (c)(3) non-profit raises vital funds to pay for the off-site learning and enrichment activities that help make the Healey School unique.
