Help us take care of our beloved dog Star
Donation protected
Our beloved Dog Star hasn’t really been eating this week. So we took her to our normal vet and it unfortunately became serious. We originally thought it was caused by an impacted tooth. Our vet determined she was dehydrated (even though she had no signs) and she had signs of kidney failure. Based on our vets recommendation, Star was admitted to TruVet Speciality & Emergency Hospital.
We typically don't ask for help, but this is unfortunately a time that we must. The initial round of tests have already costs us $2,200. Depending on how it goes, the original estimate was $1,500 per day, with a 3 to 5 day stay. Any small amount will go a long way.
We just received a call from the animal hospital and we have received some good news. Star appears to be in better spirits today. They are giving her a bunch of antibiotics and other fluids and her blood pressure is back to normal. They are still unclear what the cause is. The initial testing (blood work) showed signs of kidney failure. Our vet originally believed that she could have gotten into something and they basically thought maybe she needed to be treated for poisoning. So, that’s what they have aggressively treating her for until they get the lab tests back.
