Help Us Survive: Nour’s Plea from Gaza!

My name is Suzan, and I’m fundraising for my niece Nour and her family, who are enduring unimaginable hardships in Gaza. Below is her heartfelt message:

“I write this with a heavy heart and trembling hands, motivated only by the need to save my family. My name is Nour, and I want to share our story since the war began on October 7th, in the hope that you might help us survive this nightmare.

For the first few weeks, we stayed in Gaza City, clinging to whatever semblance of normal life we could manage. But the constant bombings near us made it clear that death was always at our doorstep. We witnessed devastation, destruction, and the loss of loved ones over and over again.

Our family home was bombed, and we lost many relatives, friends, and neighbors. On November 9th, we were forced to flee to southern Gaza, leaving behind everything—our clothes, beds, and memories. Since then, we’ve been displaced multiple times, moving from one place to another in search of safety. But we’ve learned that no place in Gaza is truly safe.

Now, we live in unbearable conditions. Clean water is scarce, and we’re forced to wait hours just to use a crowded toilet. The air is filled with pollution, and insects are everywhere. Our diet consists only of canned food, which has made us sick, as we can’t afford meat, chicken, or vegetables. The prices of basic necessities have skyrocketed, and we have no source of income.

We’re also cut off from the world. Electricity is nearly non-existent, and accessing the internet requires walking 15 minutes to buy expensive prepaid cards. Even charging our phones costs money.

The ongoing bombings, lack of shelter, and absence of clean water or proper food have left us desperate. We are battling illness, hunger, and unimaginable stress, all while trying to protect our children and hold on to hope.
