Help Us Survive: A Plea from Gaza

Hello everyone,

My name is Sunniva and I live in the United States.

My beloved Osid is from Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

He is trying to raise funds to help his family overcome the catastrophic conditions they are facing in Gaza and to help him and his family get out to Egypt.

All donations will go directly to Osid and his family.

Osid's story in his own words

My name is Osid Alkourd.

I am 24 years old, a software engineer from the Gaza Strip.

I live with my family: my father, mother, my older brother Oday, my brother Safwan, and my younger brother Mohab.

We live in Gaza under extremely harsh and difficult conditions.

We are suffering from hunger and a severe shortage of water, food, and medicine.

Additionally, even when food is available, it is extremely expensive.

For example, the price of one kilogram of flour is approximately $25, and the price of one kilogram of rice is around $18.

I, Osid, graduated from university in 2023, just two months before the war on Gaza.

I graduated with a degree in Computer Science, and fortunately, right after graduation, I got a job as a junior software engineer at a company in Gaza. Everything was going well for me.

Unfortunately, when the war broke out, I lost my job.

I am currently looking for remote work, but sadly, everyone refuses to hire someone from Gaza because they know that the internet is frequently cut off, and that people living in Gaza are constantly forced to move from one place to another due to the heavy bombing.

My family and I — my father, mother, and siblings — are waiting for the Rafah border crossing to open so that we can go to Egypt.

We are in urgent need of financial support because we are completely drained financially due to the extreme rise in prices and the lack of job opportunities.
