*UPDATE*

It is with broken hearts that we share that our beautiful Zosia sadly passed away on Thursday 8th January.

Zosia was an incredible person who brought kindness, warmth and strength into the lives of everyone who knew her. She would always be the first to help anyone in need, never asking for anything in return.

We want to keep Zosia’s memory alive and continue supporting her family during this devastating time. Mal will also now be running the half marathon alongside me, knowing Zosia will be with us every step of the way.

Hi everyone,

I’m raising money for my lovely friend Zosia, whose world was turned upside down in September when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma - a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes, liver and lungs.

Zosia is only 40 years old and has a 10 year old son, Charlie. Alongside her partner Darren and their family, they’ve been facing this completely unexpected journey together. Sadly, because of where the tumour is located, it’s inoperable. Zosia has been through so much in such a short space of time, undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy in the hope of prolonging her life. However, the prognosis for this type of cancer is very poor, and the consultants have now made the heartbreaking decision to stop treatment and focus on keeping her comfortable in the short time she has left.

As Zosia’s family and friends, we are absolutely distraught by this news. No words can explain how it feels to have to accept this, especially after everything has happened so quickly.

I’ll be (attempting!) to run the Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise money so that we can support Zosia, Charlie and Darren in any way they need during this incredibly difficult time.
