It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our dear colleague and friend, David Oyedeji Adediwura, who lost his life following a devastating motor accident at Cory Wright Way, Wheathampstead, at about 21:38 BST on Wednesday July 23, 2026. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyjk1791gno)
David’s death was sudden, heartbreaking and completely unexpected. News of the tragedy has left his family, friends, colleagues and everyone who knew him struggling to come to terms with an unimaginable loss.
David was more than a colleague. He was a valued member of our community whose presence, kindness and contributions touched the lives of those around him. He will be remembered for his warm personality, generosity, dedication to his work and willingness to support others.
Behind this tragedy is a grieving family (his wife and three kids) now facing not only the emotional pain of losing someone they loved deeply, but also the immediate financial responsibilities associated with his funeral and other necessary arrangements.
We have created this GoFundMe campaign to stand with David’s family during this extremely difficult period. The money raised will be used to help with:
• Funeral and burial expenses
• Transportation and other necessary arrangements
• Immediate financial support for his family
• Any additional costs directly connected with laying David to rest with dignity
Our fundraising target is £10,000. Every donation, regardless of its size, will make a meaningful difference. It will help relieve some of the financial pressure on David’s family and allow them to focus on grieving, supporting one another and honouring his memory.
We understand that not everyone may be able to contribute financially. Sharing this campaign with friends, colleagues, community groups and social networks would also be a valuable form of support.
This fundraiser is being organised by his former colleague from Yodel and DHL, with the knowledge and consent of David’s family. All donations will be used for the purposes described above, and appropriate updates will be provided to donors.
David’s life was tragically cut short, but the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain with us. During this painful time, let us come together to show his family that they are not alone.
Please keep David’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
Rest peacefully, David Oyedeji Adediwura. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity and support.
