My name is Bethan Stinson and I am the youngest of my parent's three daughters. 5 years ago our family suffered a great loss when we lost the eldest of my parents children, my sister Anna, to suicide. Our parents and the 5 of us children have all had our own fair share of struggles with mental and physical illnesses, as well as addictions, and being institutionalized.
Right now my concern is my sister Ruth; the middle child, and overachiever. Always had good grades and worked hard. I wasn't very nice to her, growing up. But I'm exceedingly more grateful as time goes on, for how close we've become, even with our physical distance.
All this being said, in her early 20's my sister had laparoscopic surgery but has been combating chronic endometriosis for nearly two decades, in relative silence. At just 37 years old, after years of considering her options, Ruth decided to finally have a hysterectomy, in hopes of improving her quality of life.
Ruth is a hard working professional with her own private business as a Licensed Massage Therapist, and is pre-med student, putting herself through school.
This is no minor surgery and will have her out of work for nearly a month.
Her medical bills are substantial as she's trying to keep herself afloat while she recovers.
People always say to check on your strong friends. Ruth is that friend that's strong, and grits her teeth thru the pain to help everyone else, with a smile on her face.
She may not be able to bring herself to ask for help, for herself, but as her baby sister, and one of the sole receivers of her motherly care; it is my pleasure to ask for her.
My sister is the most caring, nurturing, and considerate person I've ever had the honor of meeting. If anyone deserves help, it's my sister, Ruth.
Any little bit helps
