Early morning Monday June 12th, our good friend Shane was transported to St. Mary’s for severe chest pain. After being admitted for high troponin levels (a protein that enters the bloodstream due to stress on the heart) Shane was scheduled for a triple bypass Wednesday the 14th. During the six-hour surgery, it was found he needed a quadruple bypass as well as yet another open heart surgery in the near future to repair an aortic blockage. Fortunately, he has been released from the hospital, and is recuperating well at home.
Having known Shane for some time now, I couldn’t begin to explain all of the different things that make him such a great human being. I always look forward to when I get to sit down at the end of a work day just to sit and have a good conversation with him, and I cannot wait until the day he’s back at work and I can sit down with him again! I’m happy I get to call such a kind, spirited and thoughtful person my friend.
While Shane’s road to recovery is looking bright, he will soon have staggering medical bills on top of not being able to work. If you are able to donate any amount is helpful. If you are unable to give at this time, please share so we can help give back to someone who does so much for so many!
