Hello, I am organizing this on my aunt Olga’s behalf. She’s 42 years old and a mother of 5—one daughter and 4 boys. Back in 2023, when she was pregnant, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Her children, Anthony (16), Chris (14), Liam (6), Hazel (8), Jeremy (1), and her husband Gustavo are her pride and joy; they keep her going.
In 2024, she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She did radiation and chemo. Most recently, last month, we found out she was diagnosed with spine cancer. She went into the hospital due to having an infection in her breasts, and that’s when we found out that the cancer has spread to her spine. During her hospital stay, she got really sick from lack of appetite and other complications, which caused her heart function to go down to 20%. She was in the ICU for a couple of days; she was incredibly weak. She had several falls and a lot of body aches that even the medicine they gave her didn’t help. The doctors gave her a prognosis of 3 to 6 months to live.
This has all been really hard on our entire family as we are all very close. Financially, Gustavo is struggling to make ends meet now that my aunt is unable to work. Disability maxed out my aunt’s benefits, and they won’t pay anything until she’s been out of work for over a year, which she hasn’t been. As a family, we are all trying to pitch in and help them, but it’s been really hard and it’s taking a toll on all of us. It’s not easy for us to be asking for help as we are private people and usually deal with our family issues internally, but unfortunately, the financial situation has been difficult.
My aunt’s biggest concern and worry are her children. She wants to make sure that they are taken care of when she’s gone. Anything is truly appreciated and accepted. I understand if you can’t donate, but even if it’s a prayer, positive vibes, or just a share, we would appreciate that also.
