Our beloved aunt, Maria Lourdes who goes by “Malou” is a woman who has spent her entire life putting others before herself. At 54 years old, she now faces the biggest battle of her life: Stage IV lung cancer that has spread to her liver, brain, and possibly beyond.

Malou was born on February 11, 1971 in Cebu, Philippines, the eldest of four siblings. Life wasn’t easy growing up, but she carried the weight of responsibility with grace and determination. From her younger years, she became the backbone of our family—sacrificing her own dreams so that her family could achieve theirs.

She never married, but she became our second mother. She provided for her nieces and nephew, ensuring we had what we needed to finish school. She gave us love, guidance, and faith—reminding us daily to pray and trust God in times of hardship. Her love was always unconditional, steady, and selfless.

Malou is deeply loved not only by our family but also by her community. She is known as a dedicated educator and a respected professional in the real estate industry. Her students, colleagues, and friends all describe her as someone who works with integrity, passion, and heart. She loved to travel, explore the world, cook, and host celebrations for others—not for herself, but simply to bring joy to those around her.

Sadly, Malou's health began to decline over the years. Behind her selflessness, Malou's own health battles were slowly taking their toll.

Since then, Malou has undergone brain radiation in December 2024, as well as six chemotherapy sessions in 2025 from January to May. This September, her doctors recommended continuing chemotherapy as the tumors in her liver are progressing, putting her at risk of liver failure. The brain tumor is also growing, and gamma knife radiosurgery has been advised—but the cost is overwhelming. She continues to fight courageously, but the toll has been heavy—her body is weak, her vision blurry, and her mobility limited. Despite this, she never complains. She still prays, still smiles, and still thinks of others before herself.

Now, it is our turn to give back to the woman who has given so much of herself. We are humbly asking for your help in this battle. Your generosity will go toward her continued chemotherapy, possible gamma knife treatment, daily medical needs, and hospital visits. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in extending her life and easing her suffering.

Malou has spent her whole life serving, giving, and loving unconditionally. She deserves to continue her fight with dignity and hope.
