Hello Everyone,

We are friends and colleagues of Malven Smith.

Malven has been an English teacher at Robison Middle School in Las Vegas, NV for several years now. He is a wonderful father to two amazing boys. To hear his family tell it, Malven has been healthy his entire life- rarely has he had to take a sick day. He is a dedicated teacher who makes positive connections with all his students. They bond over all the same fandoms that he loves as well, all the while learning the English content that he spends hours planning and teaching. Even when we spent an entire year teaching virtually, they looked forward to seeing him every day and being in his class.

And this wonderful person needs our help right now.

Malven became seriously ill at the end of May. It was determined that he had a stroke, and then seizures. He has been in the hospital since then, and seemed to be making slow progress towards a recovery throughout the summer. However, he had a second stroke just this past week, and his prognosis is not the best. We are worried, yet holding out for a positive outcome.

We are asking for donations to help support him and his family during this difficult time. His sister is taking care of things for him, and she
needs all the support we can provide. If you are able to donate at this time to help a wonderful person, father and educator, we thank you.
