This time one year ago, Chad & Alaina were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby boy, Owen. He is the little son they prayed for and were finally blessed with in December of 2020. Those who have met baby Owen know he is the sweetest and most joyful little boy who is loved dearly by his two big sisters and his mom and dad. Recently, a visit to Owen's pediatrician turned into a day their family would never forget as their lives were flipped upside down in a matter of minutes. It is with a heavy heart that we tell their story understanding that something like this is any parent's worst nightmare.

On September 7th, Owen was taken to see his pediatrician for a small mass that was recognized on his abdomen. After an ultrasound was performed the findings raised considerable concern. The pediatrician uttered the word cancer to Chad & Alaina and advised them to promptly take Owen to Children's National Medical Center to continue his care. After a very long night of ultrasounds, blood tests, CT scans, and MRI, Chad & Alaina were informed that Owen has something called Hepatoblastoma, which is a cancer of the liver. Owen now faces a long road of treatment consisting of surgery, chemotherapy and other medical interventions.

Although this diagnosis breaks our hearts, we believe in the presence of a Sovereign God and are choosing faith and hope. We are asking for support to help Chad & Alaina while they walk this difficult road with their son and would like to help alleviate the financial burden as they now focus on healing and protecting little Owen.
