Help Us Support Lily's Healing Journey

Dear friends, family and compassionate souls,

My name is Stephanie, and I write this on behalf of myself and Lily’s father, Amir, to ask for your support in helping our beloved daughter continue receiving life-saving care.

Lily has been living with a serious, unresolved medical condition for the past 4½ years, her health declining sharply over the last 2½. What began after a bout with Covid has spiraled into a relentless journey through pain, uncertainty, and countless unanswered questions. Despite seeing numerous doctors, undergoing extensive testing, and traveling across states to meet with specialists, Lily’s condition remained largely undiagnosed until recently.

Over a year ago, Lily’s condition worsened drastically. She was in constant pain, unable to eat, and too weak to walk. She was placed on TPN (IV nutrition) and relied on a wheelchair. During that period, I moved to Nashville to be near her and offer as much support as possible. I helped care for her, bathing her, washing her hair, assisting her to the bathroom, while Elliott administered her IV nutrition and medications, essentially becoming her full-time nurse. It was heartbreaking to witness our vibrant, loving daughter reduced to needing such intimate, round-the-clock care just to get through the day.

And yet, amidst this darkness, hope arrived.

A neurological chiropractor referred Lily to his mentor, a specialist in complex cases. They traveled by car from Nashville to Michigan, desperate for answers. Within days of receiving this integrative treatment, Lily took her first steps again. She climbed a flight of stairs. She began eating small amounts. After two weeks, she returned home, no longer in a wheelchair, walking gently on her own. It felt nothing short of miraculous. For the first time in years, we saw a path forward.

Lately, she has had some serious setbacks and had to return to Michigan and she has now been diagnosed with left-sided hemiplegic migraines, accompanied by a neurological disconnect between her brain and stomach. This condition causes intense involuntary vomiting and chronic nausea, making it incredibly difficult for her to eat, maintain weight, or function day to day. It happens in a split second where she will be talking and then stop immediately and enters a state of paralysis where she can't talk and she can't move.

The treatment she is getting is integral for her progress, but is not covered by insurance and the ongoing cost is considerable, yet it’s the only approach that has offered Lily meaningful healing.

Her devoted husband, Elliott, has been by her side through every step, serving as her primary caregiver, administering medications, coordinating treatments, and offering unwavering love. The emotional and physical toll on them both has been immense.

As a family, we’ve done everything we can, financially, emotionally, and logistically, to get her the care she needs. But we can’t do it alone anymore. We are reaching out to our extended community for help.

If you feel moved to support, your donation, no matter the amount, will go directly towards Lily’s continued medical care and the critical next phase of her healing journey. If you’re unable to give financially, simply sharing her story or holding her in your prayers means the world to us.

Lily is strong. She is brave. She deserves a chance to reclaim her life, her health, her future, her joy. Your support brings us closer to that hope becoming reality.

With all our hearts, thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us.

With deep gratitude,
Stephanie & Amir
