Help Us Support Lexi's during her treatment
Lexi is a vibrant and outgoing woman, who has become an important part in all of our lives. Recently she received news that is enough to shatter the foundation of any woman...... Cancer. Not just any cancer, but breast cancer. She now has to undergo cancer treatment, including chemo and radiation. Here's what she told me about the situation;
"I have learned I have IDC with HER2 positive and ER positive. This means nothing to you. Well to me it means I have stage 1 breast cancer that is aggressive, slow spreading, fast growing and fed by estrogen(not great news). So because of this I have 18 weeks of traditional chemo (good bye hair and functional days and immune system) and then after, surgery to either remove just the mass or a full mastectomy depending; on the genetic results. Then 4 months of chemo in pill form and daily radiation. 5 years of hormone blockers (hello menopause).
In the recent days, I have had surgery to put a port in (feels like I got beat in the chest for 2 hours), did a full 10 hours at the doctors with labs and treatment and shaved my head.
So there there it is. I’m scared I’m emotional I’m bald and I’m not feeling too great."
This treatment and recovery is going to be hard on not only Lexi, but on her fiancé Coty as well. It will be hard physically due to the treatments, it will be hard emotionally dealing with the highs/lows of uncertainty until the end. And here's where we come in, as a community. It will be hard financially. Time off work for Lexi while she undergoes treatment. Time off work for Coty as he takes Lexi to and from appointments, treatments, etc. This will have a financial impact on them both while she fights this battle. That is why we, as a club, have put this fundraiser together. None of us can fight this fight for her, but we all can support her; and help ease the burden financially by donating.
Thank you for your time. If you can't donate, but want to support Lexi during this battle please, share the link with someone.
