Help Us Support Emerson Through His Fight
Donation protected
Hi, as most of our friends and family know my son Emerson Abel was diagnosed with an optic pathway glioma on Feb 1st 2023. Emerson underwent an emergency surgery the following day to place a shunt that relieves the pressure built up in his brain and is currently recovering from surgery safely at home. We will meet with the neurologists, oncologists, ophthalmologists and endocrinologists to discuss treatment options to stabilize his tumor in an attempt to stop it from growing.
Emerson Abel is the absolute sweetest boy I’ve ever met, he is such a ray of sunshine and can brighten literally anyone’s day with his huge goofy grin. Emerson will be three-years-old on May 10th and even though his journey here on Earth has just begun he has been such a strong, brave boy every single day. Emerson has fought such a fierce fight against all odds with his Cystic Fibrosis and has recently struggled with weight gain and appetite issues. In just three short years Emerson has visited Seattle Children’s hospital more times than we can count for visits with his cystic fibrosis team.
We are so so thankful for all of the staff at Seattle Children’s hospital that have helped us and loved us. Every one was so caring and kind, it was truly remarkable to have so many doctors, nurses and specialists care so deeply about their jobs and show up for Emerson in the most compassionate and loving ways.
For the time being I will not be able to return to my full time day job at the dental office so that I can care for Emerson while he recovers and take him to follow ups and treatment coordination for his brain cancer clinic. Even through these immensely hard times, bills don’t stop. My wonderful co workers at The Front Street Alibi are organizing a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on the 15th of this month but so many of you have reached out to me whom cannot make it on the 15th and asked me if I had a GoFundMe account- so here I am.
Emerson, Hazel and I greatly appreciate any and all love, prayers and support that all of you have offered to us. We love you guys and we cannot thank you enough from the bottom
of our hearts for everything that every one of you have done to help us during these uncertain times
