Help us support Chase after losing arm in crash
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Marissa Kiesling and I am fundraising on behalf of Chase Mailloux.
On Sunday, September 18, 2022, our son, brother, uncle, and friend was in a tragic car accident. While returning home from meeting his mom at dinner, Chase’s Ford Explorer rolled over and his left arm was crushed under his SUV.

It took firefighters over an hour to get Chase free from the overturned SUV pinning his arm. As a result, he lost his arm from the elbow down. His shoulder and collarbone were also badly broken.

When his accident happened his phone randomly called our mom and she could hear Chase screaming in pain, crunching sounds from “Jaws of Life” being used on the mangled SUV, and the firefighters working to free him. It is something that will haunt our parents for as long as they live.

I have a link to the news article below.

Chase has a long road to recovery and will need to adjust to living life with one arm and hand. He is in a lot of pain and has been back to the hospital two times to check for blood clots, infection and excessive blood pooling out of his amputated arm. It has been hard to witness a loved one endure so much pain. One moment in time has the ability to change your entire life.
The accident has caused Chase to lose his arm, his vehicle, his job (climbing cell phone towers, building the 5G network), and the loss of being independent, having his own income, as well as the ability to play guitar (his one hobby that he loved).

My daughters were amazed by how he played.
He had a job lined up in Northern CA and was days away from starting his new position. Because Chase was between jobs, he did not have insurance. Not only does he have his hospital bills to pay off, and no job that brings in income, but now Chase needs special adaptive “tools” to help him with the simplest tasks that we all take for granted, like:
*Clippers for cutting own fingernails
*Tying his own shoes and drawstring pants
*Putting on his socks
*Adaptive cutting boards and knives for cutting food
*Opening jars
*Buttoning buttons and pulling up zippers
*Putting toothpaste on a toothbrush.
*Future Prosthetic arm - (cost from $5,000-$30,000 and typically only last 3 to 5 years)
These things will also help Chase regain some independence in his life and build his confidence. Parents, Ron and Kim have been supporting all of Chase's needs, which include: meals, clothing, toiletries, driving him to and from the hospital, changing wound bandages, and just being the emotional support. We are hoping that we can alleviate some of the financial responsibility.
Until you are in a situation like this, you cannot grasp the toll it takes on an individual and their families. We have cried a lot of tears….for the life Chase once had, to being grateful he is alive, to the sadness you feel when you see Chase in pain or when you watch him with all his new challenges. It is overwhelming. Any money donated will be to help Chase get through this difficult time.
If you would like to help with meals to help support Chase and his parents, (caring for Chase) we have a meal train link a friend has graciously set up for them.
Please, share with friends and family! Thank you!
