Hello! My name is PJ Pettijohn and I am raising funds to help my brother and his family as they endure one the hardest things new parents can go through. We would like to raise money to help Celeste, the mommy who has been fighting for her life after a diagnosis of severe eclampsia after giving birth to her son, and Isaiah and baby Isaac. They will be faced with many obstacles, There will be a huge financial burden, and much need during this trying time. My brother and his wife wrote a heart wrenching post detailing what has transpired.
“Now that she is improving and there is talk of transfer in the near future, to the next level down out of critical ICU, I will share what exactly our daughter went through. She started out a few weeks ago with preterm labor and preeclampsia. She has been back a few times to the hospital & had appointments/call ins over the last two weeks. Her preeclampsia got so severe that this last time she went into the hospital (Monday morning 2/27/2023 about 6:30am), she started seizing within minutes of getting into OB room. Her BP got extremely high and they tried controlling it but after her second seizure they rushed her in for emergency c-section and he was delivered at 9:49 am. She continued with seizures (eclampsia) and BP issues after the C-section and ended up having a large intraparenchymal brain hemorrhage left parietal lobe 4cm (brain bleed). They then ordered her to be transported to another hospital with better capabilities of helping her. If you look up her hemorrhage, you will see how amazingly thankful we are that she is still with us. She truly had a guardian Angel watching over her & her baby boy.
The area of the brain bleed is what caused her vision issues and all that her body has been through is just gonna take some time to heal. We pray she has no lasting effects from all this; but we can live with anything as long as she is here with us ❤️.
Celeste has a long road ahead of her to recover fully; but she is a fighter. This team at Grady Hospital that she has, is great and she is showing more & more improvement every hour. We have met lots of therapists, nurses & doctors (Neuro, OB), etc here that are on her care team and they have all been wonderful with her. She will probably have months of recovery even after discharge but she will get through it all with God’s help!! Not sure when she will get to go home but I know she is improving each hour and pushing to be able to finally hold her baby boy!
With her permission, I am sharing a picture of our newest grandson; this beautiful blessing God gave her and Isaiah.
Please continue prayers for all 3 of them (Celeste, Isaiah, and Isaac).”
