It is with a heavy heart that I am asking for your help in supporting my best friend, Cameron Jay Harrelson. Cameron has always been there for this community, offering his unwavering support and friendship, and now it's our turn to be there for him.

 Cameron is one of the individuals who makes Athens what it is, serving as the 2022 President and Vice President of various organizations that advocate for the rights and support of LGBTQIA2S+ people. His leadership led to the first-ever Athens Pride Parade, the proclamation of Pride Month by the ACC Government, and the installation of the Athens Rainbow Crosswalk Intersection. He is also actively involved in advocacy for homicide victims' families' rights through his local podcast, Classic City Crime and was named as one of Athens’ top 10 under 40 just a few short months ago.

 Despite his many accomplishments, Cameron has been dealt a tough blow. He was recently diagnosed with Mixed Cellularity Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer that attacks the lymphatic system. He will soon begin a series of aggressive treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other procedures. As you can imagine, this has created a significant financial burden that we hope to alleviate together.

 This is why I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise $30,000 to support Cameron during this difficult time. These funds will be used to cover his medical costs, including chemotherapy and other treatments/tests, and to provide financial support during his any potential time away from work. Additionally, the funds will help pay for living expenses and transportation costs, as he will need to travel frequently to receive treatment.

Cameron is one of the most selfless and caring individuals I know, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He has been the best friend I could have ever asked for, and I know that many others feel the same way. He deserves all the love and support he can get right now, and I am asking for your help to show him how much we care.
