3/25/20 - Another scare - another surgery - another recovery period.
Hello all,
Just wanted to update everyone on how Brenda is doing. Many of you probably heard, but her cancer returned in January and she had to have another invasive surgery at KU Med Center on March 9th, where they had to remove a portion of her liver and kidney. She is currently at home recovering and is quarantined, as we all are. Unfortunately, her quarantine period started much earlier than the rest of us, so she has a bad case of cabin fever, as you can imagine. The good news is that she is recovering well and as expected.
She has follow up appt's with her doctors Mar 31st-Apr 2nd, and we ask that you continue praying for her.
There is also a need to update her Go Fund Me account, as another surgery means another 8-week recovery period from work & income while doctor and hospital bills are coming in.
I understand that we all are in difficult and uncertain times, but if you have the means to donate any amount at all towards helping her with expenses, it would be so appreciated. As before, if you are not able to help in this manner, we still ask that you keep her in your prayers!
Everyone be safe and may God bless each of you!

Brenda (Keller) Bromley is a mother, daughter, sister, a wonderful friend to many, as well as being a highly-respected, retired school teacher and coach for the East Buchanan School District. She is also one of the best human beings I know.
Brenda was diagnosed with an aggressive type of ovarian cancer on Nov. 30, 2018. On Dec. 17, 2018, she underwent a five-hour surgery, which included a full hysterectomy & 44 staples to her abdomen. Due to complications, what was supposed to be 3-5 days in the hospital turned into 11 days – and spent Christmas there as well. This past week, she began the first of six “cycles” (18 weeks) of intense chemotherapy treatments.
She has been unable to work since her diagnosis in November and is looking at a recovery time through at least June 2019. Needless to say, she is going to need our help - and she is most deserving at this time.
As you can imagine (or know first-hand), fighting cancer and the recovery process is very expensive. The surgery itself, an 11-day hospital stay, and all pending treatments will be a tremendous financial burden.
I have set up this GoFundMe page in an effort to help her with medical & living expenses while she focuses on healing her body back to health.
Those of you who know Brenda knows that she is not the type of person to ask for anything, but is always the first to offer her help when there is a need. She has a genuine, selfless heart and has touched SO MANY lives over the years through her service in the school district, her church, and in her community. She feels extremely blessed to have her family and friends praying for her and supporting her in this journey. And she also knows that He is in control.
Please consider donating if you can! Never underestimate the difference you can make – any amount you can give is truly appreciated. Most of all, please keep Brenda and her entire family in your prayers.
Lastly, I ask that you PLEASE SHARE this page. The more people see it, the more help she may be able to receive from other generous donors.
We will update this page as we learn more in the weeks and months to follow.
God Bless You, and thank you for helping my friend. ♥️
