Help Us Support An Unfortunate Loss

Hello everyone My name is Elena De Leon from Ontario CA I have created this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister Rebecca De Leon and brother-in-law Rodolfo for the loss of their business Taqueria El Habanero.

About 8 months ago, Alex Tacos, located in the city of Pomona, was sold to Rodolfo and Rebeca. This was the start of a new journey full of goals, dreams, and 100% dedication.

With time, Alex Tacos became Taqueria El Habanero. With the same recipes and love, they started promoting the new name they had chosen for their very first business. With the help of all the employees that stood by them, Taqueria El Habanero has successfully created a delightful environment for customers to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

On 11/02/2024, the worst nightmare of any owner occurred. At 2:17 AM, Rebeca got an alarm on her phone, and without being able to connect to their cameras, they headed to the Taqueria. At 2:30 AM, as they made a turn from Reservoir St. to Mission Blvd, ahead of them awaited a street full of firefighters and the police department right in front of El Habanero, putting out the flames that consumed the inside of the restaurant.

This couple are the most hardworking people I’ve met and have been dedicated to the community day and night since day one.

With a heavy heart over this loss in these difficult times, we would like to share this story, and if you find it in your heart to help rebuild a dream that has been taken away from Rodolfo and Rebeca in seconds, we would greatly appreciate it.

We also want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers, for every customer, family, and friend that stopped by and offered support and a helping hand to move things out, the funds will be used to recover everything that they lost during the fire as unfortunately there was no insurance active at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire still remains unknown, firefighters stated a supposed cause but further investigation is still undergoing.
