After the storms on the 4th of July, we had trees knock down our power lines. Ameren is being very uncommunicative, refusing to give us even basic information on whether or not the downed line is still live, much less when we can expect power to be restored. One representative even told us the entire thing was our responsibility. I am suffering from chronic migraines due to the heat, and one of my other roommates suffers from sleep apnea and uses a CPAP. As you can imagine, a CPAP does not work without power. The heat is dangerous for both of us due to our disabilities and medications we take to manage them. All funds will go towards getting a small hotel room while we wait for Ameren to sort itself out, and excess funds will be used for hiring a contractor if necessary.
