My name is Leah, and my husband Patrick and I are facing a crisis that has left us feeling isolated and overwhelmed. After a wrongful eviction following a long, difficult battle with a fraudulent foreclosure, we lost our home and much of what we owned. The judge’s decision left us with nowhere to go, and the stress of this injustice has taken a heavy toll on Patrick, who lives with multiple disabilities. The fear of being on the streets with our three cats and our 14-year-old dog has only made his symptoms worse.

We are currently staying in a low budget extended stay motel, doing everything we can to keep a roof over our heads. Our only vehicle broke down after someone tampered with it, which meant I lost my job as a delivery driver. Since then, we have survived solely on Patrick’s disability income, but it’s not enough to cover the motel and storage facility that holds the last of our belongings. Hotel living is cramped and emotionally taxing, but it is far better than being on the streets, especially for someone with Patrick’s health challenges.

We have no family to turn to and feel very much alone in this struggle. Our faith in Christ is what keeps us going. We are not asking for a handout, but a hand up to get through this crisis.
