We took our Subaru in for a brake job, expecting a routine repair, but the mechanic told us there was a significant amount of work to be done. On top of that, he noticed one of our tires was showing wire, and because it's a Subaru, all four tires need to be replaced if one is. Facing this unexpected expense while living on social security has been overwhelming for us. We tried a bank loan, but we had a surprise bill in collections. No loan. We also called about title loans, but you pay $4000.00 interest for a $2000.00 loan.
So here we are.
Our car is truly our lifeline. We rely on it for everything—getting to medical appointments, picking up groceries, enjoying a bit of entertainment, and staying connected with our family. My husband has heart and lung issues, diabetes, and Parkinson's, so reliable transportation is not just a convenience, but a necessity. This year marks our 50th wedding anniversary, and we want nothing more than to continue caring for each other and staying active in our rural community, where there isn't even a grocery store nearby.
Hi everyone. We are needing some help here and it's very humbling. If you can help us out either by sharing this or donating, we would greatly appreciate it. Please help us get back on track. Thank you in advance.
