I relocated to Denver, CO from San Diego, CA about 90 days ago, hoping for a fresh start after a difficult year. Last year, I lost my father and have been struggling ever since, with no close family or friends nearby for support. When I arrived in Denver, I was grateful to find a job, but unfortunately, I was furloughed and there is no sign of work returning anytime soon. I applied for unemployment, but was denied because I spent the past few years caring for my sick father instead of working.
To make matters even more challenging, my boyfriend was hit by a car while riding his bike to work two weeks ago. Thankfully, he survived, but he needed surgery on his arm and the people responsible did not stop to help. Now, he is unable to work, and the accident has created a huge financial burden and a lot of stress for us. We are now short on rent and have nowhere to go, with no one else to ask for help.
The funds raised will be used towards our rent so we have a place to live, as well as medical expenses. Because my boyfriend has out-of-state insurance, we have had to pay out of pocket for medications and supplies. The funds will also help with gas so I can get to interviews and find a new job. Even if you cannot donate, just sharing this link means the world to us. We have always believed in the goodness of people, and your kindness during this incredibly difficult time is restoring our faith and giving us the strength to keep going. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for any support you can offer. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. With love and gratitude,
