Help Us Stay Home For The Holidays
Donation protected
My name is Brett (legal/birth name). Some of you also know me as Theo (chosen name). And this is a fundraiser for my son, Noah, and myself.
I know we just got help from some of you recently, but we were so close to the next deadline that we fell behind again. We are looking for help to keep us from getting evicted. The eviction has been filed with the courts and we are running out of time, especially since December rent is due now as well. As I said, last time we caught up too late. We need to get ahead if at all possible. However, sickness has been affecting me greatly these last two months and keeping me out of work more often than one would like. Multiple trips to the ER and Urgent Care have been made. My doctor and my therapist both agree that my illnesses are due to stress. And what else causes more stress than financial worries. The situation causes stress, the stress causes illness, the illness causes missed work, missed work causes reduced income, reduced income causes more stress, and so on.
This money would help us pay our back rent, late fees, court filing fees, NSF fee the landlord is requesting, and the current month of December’s rent. We do have some, but I’ve also still been paying other bills out of what we’ve saved up, so it doesn’t feel like much. And we have very little food in the household right now, so we could apply some of the funds (whether what we’ve saved or what gets donated) towards stocking up again. Some people say “move before the eviction goes through,” but that would take just as much money (if not more) right now with applications, first and last month’s rent, security deposit, moving truck, etc.
We both realize that we won’t be able to afford Christmas presents this year. The best gift we could possibly get is to keep our apartment. Could you please help us achieve that? We would be very grateful. May the blessings be, and Peace and Love to you this Holiday Season.
