Hey Guys,

We hate asking for help, but I never thought I would be making a fundraiser like this for myself, my partner, and our pets. I've recently had to learn, you never know until you ask and try, and right now, all I can do is try with so much being uncertain. Right now we are trying to hold our little family together while my Mum is passing away from cancer. We had been relying in part on some of her income to help us get by, and now that support is disappearing with nothing to fall back on. My partner is desperately looking for work, but there have been no leads, and while I am working, my job is not enough to cover everything on its own. I have a paid week off from work so I can be present during this loss, but the truth is we cannot even begin to grieve properly with rent, bills, groceries, and prescriptions hanging over our heads.

On top of that, I am carrying nearly $5000 in credit card debt from costs connected to my Mum’s cancer treatments.

Any support will go directly toward helping us stay afloat through this time. It will help cover rent, groceries, electricity, my Mum’s storage unit until we can empty it, phone and internet bills, home insurance, property taxes, gas, prescriptions for both us and our animals, dog food, cat food, and paying down the credit card debt. Our animals also have health conditions and need prescription food, and we are terrified of not being able to afford a vet visit or emergency care if something happens. I can not loose my animals without loosing a part of myself.

We are meeting with a social worker to see what help may be available, but we need to make it through the meantime, until we are on our feet again.

We really do not like asking for help, and even writing this is hard. But I am doing it because I am trying my hardest to protect my family, keep us together, and keep everyone safe, healthy, and cared for during a time of grief and overwhelm. If you are able to give, no matter the amount, it would mean more than I can say. And if you cannot donate, even sharing this fundraiser would help us so much.
