I've been separated from my husband since 2015, but due to financial limitations, we've continued to share a home. In 2019, he was diagnosed with brain cancer, which made it even harder for me to find a way to leave. Since then, we've been living on his disability income, and while I have tried to earn money here and there, it hasn't been enough for me to support myself independently. In 2021, I began a relationship with someone new, and he moved in with us. We live in a very small town with limited job opportunities and no way to travel far for work.

Recently, my ex-husband suffered a seizure, and we discovered that more cancer had developed on the other side of his brain. He underwent surgery, and for a while, things seemed to be improving. However, just this past week, he began experiencing mental difficulties, and after a visit to the ER, we learned that the cancer had returned in the area where he had surgery. It has become clear that he will need assisted living, either with his family or in a facility, and I am not able to be his caregiver. I have only stayed because I haven't had the means to move out. Unfortunately, I have no family or friends who can take me in, and my partner is in the same situation.

We are ready to get my ex the care he needs and to move closer to my partner's family for support. We have no funds to make this transition, and we are hoping to raise enough money for a deposit, first few months' rent, moving expenses, and to set up basic utilities like internet and electricity while we look for work.
