We are a group of concerned citizens, local students, and ESOL teachers with a dream: to establish a new language center in the Upstate of South Carolina! We chose the name "Upstate English for All" to reflect our commitment to every adult in our community (including U. S. Americans) who hope to broaden their language, literacy, and test-taking skills.
For the past 25 years, adult students in need of Academic ESOL classes were served by a local, public institution of higher learning. Unfortunately, this institution is no longer providing these courses, leaving students with the following options:
A) attending a local private institute that may be unaffordable, or
B) commuting two hours to the nearest public university which is still offering Academic ESOL classes.
What we hope to provide at our language center are the following academic and social supports, all offered at affordable rates:
Weekly Academic ESOL Grammar, Writing, Reading, and Speaking workshops
Test Preparation for TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, and GMAT exams
U.S. Citizenship Test Preparation, including the 100 Civics Questions, and Understanding the Oath
Editing and Copywriting Services
Resumé and C.V. Consulting

Who are our students?
They are a mix of U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and TPS Recipients, originally from the following nations: Afghanistan, Brazil, China, Colombia, Germany, Haiti, Honduras, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Russia, Spain, Thailand, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, United States & Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
Our students are architects, bakers, builders, chefs, dentists, doctors, engineers, farmers, landscapers, lawyers, mechanics, nurses, pilots, and real estate agents, to name only a few of their professions. They are the parents and spouses of U.S. Americans, and many of them speak English as their third, fourth, or fifth language.
We are fortunate to have the support of several community partners, and currently are meeting at Jud Hub in West Greenville. Drop by; come meet our Students and Lecturers! Our current fundraising efforts in Summer 2025 go towards our Dr. Ted Way Memorial Scholarship fund for Fall classes!
