This is about Scott "Silky" Jackson who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastric Adenocarcinoma cancer. Scott was not feeling well about three weeks ago and went to the emergency room for abdominal pain that brought him to his knees on February 18. On February 26, Scott went in for a endoscopy and they took a biopsy, which was ordered by his gastro doctor. During this time he was still in pain and continuing to live life as normal. The evening of February 28, Scott received a call from Dr. Sears (Gastroenterologist), letting him know the biopsy was cancerous. About two weeks later, they finally got the call to see Dr. Wagner (Oncology surgeon). After meeting with Dr. Wagner, the plan went in effect to have a scheduled CT scan on March 14 and laparoscopic surgery(March 15) to determine what stage the cancer is in. After his surgery, Lisa (his wife) was called in his office and she found out the cancer was Stage 4 and he had lesions on his liver. Surgery is not a option at this moment and now the fight begins...
Scott will start chemotherapy next week after his port is placed on Tuesday, March 26. Chemo class will be March 28 and possibly his first chemo treatment that Friday.
We ALL know Scott is a fighter and he would fight for any of us in his situation. He has a heart of gold and a give it to you straight demeanor. So I will give it to you straight...this will be a journey. Not only emotionally, but financially. Scott is also getting a second and third opinion, but it's important that all the doctors agree with the same plan. But we trust and believe in the MASTER planner.
This GoFundMe is to help with all the medical expenses , traveling and medicine. The plan is to be aggressive to stop the cancer cells from growing and our goal is to have the surgery. Any donation will be greatly appreciated! We are in this fight to help support Scott on his journey. It takes a VILLAGE...We are #SilkyStrong!! We are going to kick cancer ass!
