Kluane and Rosie have written a musical, had a first read and a London research and development week and a showcase, and now we need your help to do a full staging in Singapore in January 2026!
A Lesbian Love Story: The Musical was conceptualised at Edinburgh Fringe in 2023. What started as a joke, soon turned into something awesome as we realised that there just aren't enough feel-good lesbian musicals. Spoiler alert - no lesbians die in this musical! In fact, no one dies. It's a show about love, and don't we all need one of those at the moment?
Whilst our story centres queerness, it transcends gender and sexuality. It's got songs that will unleash some serious feels, and what more do you need in a musical?
So will you help us stage A Lesbian Love Story: The Musical so we can share this with the world?
What are we asking for?
We are asking for a sum that will help us with:
- doing a full staging of the musical in Singapore. Because the musical "promotes an alternative lifestyle", we can't apply for grant funding, so we are raising money privately to make the show happen!
- show development costs - In August 2025, you helped us with the costs of workshopping our musical to develop it further, and we were able to hold a sold out showcase in London because of you! Now we are raising money to pay for a full show, which means we'll need to pay for actors, musicians, a stage manager, lighting and sound designers, costumes, a set, props, a choreographer, the works!
- staging the kind of love story with characters that Rosie (and others!) needed to see as a young queer person.
Thank you in advance for helping us bring our story to life!
