In 2021, I had my thyroid removed after being diagnosed with cancer. While I’m grateful to be cancer-free, the journey hasn’t ended there. Since the surgery, I’ve faced a number of health challenges—one of the most difficult being constant, worsening tinnitus.

It began about two years ago as a faint ringing in my left ear. Soon after, it spread to my right ear. Now, the ringing is constant and increasingly loud, making everyday life—and especially sleep—exhausting and overwhelming.

After countless visits to specialists and trying every coping strategy available, the best solution I’ve found is a special type of hearing aid. These not only mask the ringing to bring relief, but also help prevent it from getting worse. Unfortunately, the cost of these hearing aids and the visits to the specialist are not covered by insurance.
