Help us shoot my senior film, TAKE A LITTLE TIME !

a film where faces are only shown in reflections.
That's the message I sent at 4:08am on Aug. 9, 2019. A seedling of a pitch, shared with a group of film friendships forged in COMM 242 as freshmen. Now I'm in COMM 438 (Senior Narrative Production)...the entire world has changed, the ensuing screenplay has changed (many times!), and even that reflection gag has seen some tweaks. In a way, COVID canning our shoot back in March opened the door for this moment: 12 months removed from that late-night text, we're gearing up to shoot a fully realized, fleshed-out edition of Take a Little Time.
Today, there's a real logline: When an early-20s disillusioned dishwasher stumbles upon a lavish silverware set, clashing worldviews have him torn between turning a profit or tracking down the original owner.
Lots of other stuff happens, too! Stuff that needs film gear, legitimate props, building materials, crew meals, and the like in order to spring to life onscreen. While the PSU Film School typically helps in those areas—and continues to do so through the pandemic—senior films like these always rely on outside fundraising, and this is especially true now as we strive to craft ours as artistically, and safely, as possible.
